Mary McDonnell
Mary Eileen McDonnell was born on April 28, 1952. She is an American stage, film and television actress. She received Academy Award nominations for her roles as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and May-Alice Culhane in Passion Fish. McDonnell is most well-known for her performances as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day and President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. McDonnell was seen as Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's show The Closer. She also played in Major Crimes, the spin-off series of TNT's network, as Commander Sharon Raydor.
